After the largely criticised launch of Windows Vista in 2007, Microsoft are pinning their hopes on the release of Windows 7 as it launches this week. Whilst many executives at Microsoft have spoken of their pleasure at steering the company in a positive direction, experts in the field are looking at whether the computer company can turn around their declining quarterly sales and bring a great new product to the market.
It is approximated that 90per cent of the globes 1.2billion computers run a Microsoft operating system. And whilst experts predict that only 20per cent run the most recently released Windows Vista, it is expected that it is the remaining 80per cent that are likely to upgrade from Windows XP or earlier varieties to the newer system. In actuality Window’s 7 doesn’t differ from Vista vastly, in fact it is a better, more polished version. However, with many of the Vista problems and bad experiences looking to be banished to the closet, respected technology reviewer at The Wall Street Journal Walt Mossberg expressed “With Windows 7, PC users will at last have a strong, modern successor to the sturdy and familiar, but aged, Windows XP.”
Forecast to be huge business, it isn’t only Microsoft who is looking forward to the release. Analysts estimate an immediate growth within the personal computer sector, whilst manufactures including Dell and Hewlett-Packard are hoping that the launch will boost pre-Christmas sales.

I have used Windows 7 Beta for a few months and I would have to say that I like it. It is much faster and programs don’t lag even when you running multiple programs at once. There are some neat features introduced into Windows 7 and the overall use is much easier and simpler. Microsoft took Windows 7 seriously and they needed to do that. I have written a detailed experience about my use of Windows 7 and I hope you can find it useful. Please comment and let me know

It is still too early to determine what kind of problems might rise from Windows 7, but overall I think it will be a great operating system.
