Google have revealed that their extension package offering a “bundle of browser goodness” to internet users is to be launched. Whilst the beta version of their Extensions programme has been available since December last year, the PC launch of out-of-beta is now official with individuals able to immediately make use of a host of features.
Arriving with around 1,500 applications, the Google Chrome Extension’s programme works very similarly to Firefox and its added applications. With a whole host of browser helping, and time saving devices now available, PC users can get a brand new optimised browsing experience.
Unsurprisingly, many of the new extensions are much like the ever popular and current Google apps that so many are used to using. Including programmes such as Google Mail Checker, Google Dictionary there is even a Twitter interacting device named Chromed Bird which allows for quick tweets and updates. Meanwhile those individuals who have a number of machines may want to make use of Bookmark Sync. Rather than timely bookmarking every wanted internet page on every machine, this useful tool allows for all networked machines to share the same bookmarks, saving time and increasing efficiency. And efficiency is particularly important to Google who announced that browser performance from their last stable release had now been increased by 42per cent.
However, for those with a Linux system, Google Chrome Extensions remains in beta, whilst those with Mac’s still await confirmation that Extensions is to even come to their machines.
